A 500 acre park dedicated to teaching the public about the natural environment of Central NY. The park, owned and operated by Onondaga County, contains a 200 acre lake, a bog with board walk trail and several miles of hiking trails. Daily programs led by naturalists are avialable to the public and to school groups. Programs vary with the seasons. Beaver Lake is a natural rest stop for many migratng birds and visitor are often treated to rare or hard to spot spicies. If you are a nature lover Beaver Lake is a must see when in Central NY. The Visitor Center is open every day from dawn to dusk.

Harris Hill Soaring has been providing sailplane rides to the traveling public for over sixty years. Located near Elmira, NY "The Soaring Capital of America", the Harris Hill Soaring operation offers sailplane rides to the public, as well as club-oriented soaring services and pilot training. In high-performance, German-made sailplanes soar like a hawk silently, high above the farms and forests of the famed Finger Lakes region of New York. Pilots are government certified and will explain to you some of the history (and the mysteries) of long distance soaring flight. With advanced arrangements, group prices are available. Adjacent to the Harris Hill Soaring glider field is the renowned National Soaring Museum (http://www.soaringmuseum.org/), which houses the nation's most complete collection of aircraft devoted to motorless flight. Both the National Soaring Museum and the Harris Hill Soaring Corporation are 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporations.
