National Historic Landmark. Located along the western shore of Chautauqua Lake, the Insitution was founded in 1874 as a training camp for Sunday school teachers. It has since grown into a substantial complex dedicated to self-improvement of the individual. Included in the complex are the Chautauqua Amphitheater, Norton Memorial Hall, Palestine Park (featuring an outdoor model of the Holy Land), and the Miller Bell Tower. Open during a nine-week session each summer from Jun-Aug. Handicap accessible. Fees charged for most activities.

Lily Dale is a community dedicated to the religion of Spiritualism established in 1879. Lily Dale is located in Southwestern New York State, is one hour south of Buffalo, three hours south of Toronto, three hours north of Pittsburgh and three hours east of Cleveland. Lily Dale is located one half hour from Chautauqua Institution. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day,
